5 Professional Image- The visible representation and/or perceptions resulting from a person’s conduct as a professional. ◦ How one physically and mentally represents:  An Employer  One’s self  One’s career

6 Appearance- how someone looks; including: ◦ Clothing (dress code) ◦ Hair style and color ◦ Physical appearance (expression) ◦ Accessories (jewelry, hats) :Important: present oneself as a professional

7 Behavior- the way in which one acts or conducts oneself, especially towards others. This includes:  Attitude  Mood  Tone of voice  Physical behaviors

8 Language- the method of communication, both written and spoken, consisting the use of words and grammatical structure. This includes: ◦ Word choice ◦ Register ◦ Forms of communication (phone call, email, etc.)

10 Be self-aware, self-monitoring and self-correcting Know what you need to do (asked of you in your work) Take the initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do Do what is asked to the best of your ability and work until the job is completed Learn to work at a pace that you can sustain Take ownership of your mistakes without looking for excuses Refuse to let self-doubt or negative emotions due to negative past experiences take you off course Work efficiently, through a goal system
