3 Remember post secondary education is more than just taking courses!

4 Yes we know Grade 12 is heavy! It will seem like you are carrying an extra load… …but planning and researching takes time

5 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

6 What about a gap year? You could: Explore the world Work Volunteer Attend a semestered school to complete your credits or upgrade a course Of course there is post-secondary education: College University Apprenticeship programs A collaborative program e.g. College/University partnership #10: Consider Your Options

7 What programs interest you? Would an applied degree with coop opportunities in a college be better for you? Which subjects are you good at? Build on your strengths Do you want to stay at home or go away? Does class size matter? Check the admission requirements and what you will be studying. 12 High School Diploma (OSSD): 30 Credits, successful literacy test, 40 hours of community service For University: 6 Grade 12 U or M courses –Gr. 12 English (ENG4U) plus –5 additional 4U/4M courses Each program may determine prerequisite 4U/M courses as well as a minimum average. (Note: actual cutoffs may be higher) For College: OSSD Check myblueprint or Ontario College Application Service website for additional requirements. #4: Check your Facts: Graduation Requirements

13 WHAT DO YOU NEED? Personal Student Profile Essays Supplemental Applications Reference letters Interviews Auditions Admission test Portfolio Resume Video Audition tape (CDs) WHEN DO YOU NEED IT? Check calendars and websites for deadlines Institutions outside Ontario have different deadlines!!! U.S. & beyond have independent application systems and requirements (SAT).
