G-IDSS Global Isuzu Diagnostic Service System
2
Background of G-IDSS Adoption
Necessity of Isuzu Own Scan Tool for the Next Term GM decided to develop a PC-based scan tool. As a result, Tech2 does not have a priority for further development. Also, the development of the PC-based scan tool is slow and Isuzu cannot depend on their development schedule. → Discontinuation of GM joint development Adoption of electronic control devices much accelerated for enhanced emission control and safety control. → Higher skill level is required for repairing. Numbers of scan tool and other surrounding device are required due to high performance control module protocols and OEM vehicles. New Scan Tool ⇒ evolving to the overall service tool Carry-over of current functions: Tech 2 functions (data display, data download & upload, programming) Connection to internet: Data correction & information distribution Linking with manuals MIMAMORI/ DRM data downloading & analyzing Others……….
