In 1979 SAP R/2 was launched to provide businesses with transactional efficiency. It was the first enterprise wide software.

11 © Farhan Mir 2007 IMS SAP Configuration Configuration is the process of adjusting the setting of the tables according to business requirement It is like a radio with number of channels and you tune the desired one Performs functions like Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Sales, Distribution, Productions planning, Purchasing, HR and many others All the modules are tightly integrated After configuration in addition to routine activities it provides with reports, offers comparisons over time, analysis of reports and can even make recommendations and alerts
