Do you feel like royalty? How do we understand the term “royal priesthood”? What is royal about us?

God Is King of Kings 1 Timothy 6:15 -- God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords… Jesus is King of Kings Revelation 17:14 -- …the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings….

Revelation 19:16 -- On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Jesus is Heir of All Things Hebrews 1:2 -- but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.

Jesus Reigns! 1 Peter 3:22 -- …who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. We are IN Jesus 2 Corinthians 5:17 -- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

We are hidden with Christ in God Colossians 3:3 -- For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

We are God’s Children! Therefore, we are ROYALTY! Romans 8:16-17 -- The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Understanding Our Priestly Duties 1 Peter 2:9 -- But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

We are a HOLY priesthood offering SPIRITUAL sacrifices 1 Peter 2:5 -- you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

We are a kingdom of priests to God Revelation 1:6 -- …has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. So, what kinds of sacrifices do we offer before God?

The sacrifice of Gospel preaching 2 Corinthians 2:14 -- But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.

The sacrifice of praise to God Hebrews 13:15-16 -- Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise— the fruit of lips that confess his name. 16And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

The Sacrifice of Giving Philippians 4:18 -- I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.

The sacrifice of our very lives Romans 12:1 -- Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

The Sacrifice of love for others Ephesians 5:2 – “…and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
