Lesson 3: Global Citizens4 Task 1 Pick 3 celebrities that feature in Celebdaq - one from TV/movies, one from sport and one other. ? How is each celebrity a global citizen? ? Has the celebrity received press coverage this week/month? For what? Has this affected his/her profile? ? Look at the data tab of the celebrity’s Profile to explain how press coverage has affected the celebrity’s share price Use the worksheet to present your ideas.

Lesson 3: Global Citizens5 To sum it up: ? How might a celebrity use their fame to influence change? Think of some celebrities who have used their fame to promote a cause or charity. ? Can a celebrity also benefit from promoting a cause? Extension: Describe the relationship between celebrities, charities and the press. Describe how Celebdaq utilises some of this relationship.

Lesson 3: Global Citizens6 Homework: Watch the news for a week and try to spot any celebrities who have made the headlines for promoting a charity or cause. Look at the celebrity’s share price – does it change as a result?
