Minister Hempf / Jerska orders it, but he is mainly interested in the politics / girlfriend. Wiesler starts to observe him and discovers Dreyman is / is not anti DDR. This changes however. Even though he now has evidence, Wiesler does not betray / confess to Dreyman. He has become involved in the lives of Dreyman and Christa-Maria / Maria-Christa and has started to believe in free-thinking / Communism. When the article is published, the East German government is really pleased / embarrassed. Grubitz / Hempf blackmails Christa-Maria into revealing the author. Wiesler comes under suspicion as the flat is searched and no evidence / book is found. He is ordered to interrogate / spy upon Christa-Maria. He faces a difficult choice – whether to interrogate / sacrifice himself or Dreyman.
