2  In Georgia, there are only 40.7% of schools that require their students to take 2 or more health education courses.  About 17% of children and adolescents aged 2-19 are obese.  Strategies for parents:  Make sure your child gets physical activity every day  Serve water instead of sugar drinks to your family  Serve healthier foods at dinner. Give plenty of fruits and vegetable and less foods that are high in fats and sugars  Limit your kids to 1-2 hours of media per day

3  Strategies for communities:  Put salad bars in schools  Create and maintain safe neighborhoods and create improved ways to parks and playgrounds for kids to have physical activity  Expand programs that bring local fruits and vegetables to schools

4  Dairy  2-3 servings  Proteins  2-3 servings  Vegetables  3-5 servings  Fruits  2-4 servings  Grains  6-11 servings  Make at least half of those grains whole grains
