4 The United States Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology United States Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology 4 4 Other Accomplishments  Over 250 known criminals have been prevented from entering the country  Over 1,000 individuals (including convicted rapists, drug traffickers, and other felons) have been intercepted using biometrics.  Over 6 million foreign visitors have been enrolled in the program with no significant wait times attributed to US VISIT

24 The United States Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology United States Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology 24 Increment 2C – RF Technology  The first time a traveler is processed in US VISIT, they will be issued a unique automatic ID (a-ID), which is an RF tag.  This tag would be attached to a travel document at that time  Upon exit from the country at an RF enabled port, the a-ID would be passively and remotely read to register the exit of that tag.  Upon re-entry to the country at an RF enable port, the a-ID will be read prior to entering the primary inspection booth area, so that traveler information can be made available to the inspector as the traveler approaches
