Indentifying the Lost and Their Condition

Of the eighty-six (86) percent of the Bridger generation(born in 1984 & later) that claim to be Christian, only 5 percent believe that Jesus is the only way to get to heaven. Sixty(60) percent of people do not believe in a literal Satan.

One of the greatest motivations for learning to communicate your faith is understanding the lostness of those you seek to reach. Author Darrell Robinson writes, “One of the great needs of the church in accomplishing its mission for Christ is to rediscover what it means to be lost. Multitudes, even believers, have lost sight of lostness.”

Man is of great value to God. Genesis 1:27 explains that man was made in God’s image. The universal problem with the human race is SIN! 2 Peter 3:9 explains that God desires that no man should go to hell. Luke 9:10 states, “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Do not miss an opportunity to share, assume everyone is lost and receptive. Develop a list of those you want to share Jesus based on the Pyramid of Concern Identify specific people you can share Jesus. Pray over the each name!!!

When it comes to discipleship, churchgoers struggle most with sharing Christ with non-Christians according to a recent study of church-going American Protestants. 80 percent of those who attend church one or more times a month, believe they have a personal responsibility to share their faith But 61 percent have not told another person about how to become a Christian in the previous six months.

75 percent of churchgoers say they feel comfortable in their ability to effectively communicate the gospel, while 12 percent say they don't feel comfortable telling others about their faith. Despite a vast majority believing it's their duty to share their faith and having the confidence to do so, 25 percent say they have shared their faith once or twice, and 14 percent have shared three or more times over the last six months.
