  Using Page 11 of the ESRT we can determine how long it will take each type of wave (P and S) to travel a specific distance. Turn to Page 11

 The The X-axis measures DISTANCE from Epicenter

 The units on the X-axis are x10^3 km. Ex: 1 really is 1000 km.

 The scale on the X-axis goes by 200 km.

 The Y axis measures TIME IT TAKES WAVES TO TRAVEL

 The units on the Y axis are MINUTES

 The scale on the Y axis goes by 20 seconds.
