The Magic Quadrant is a graphical representation of a marketplace at and for a specific time period. It depicts Gartner's analysis of how certain vendors measure against criteria for that marketplace, as defined by Gartner. 18 Unified. Simplified. Where to Start? Had to support geographically dispersed teams across Australia and New Zealand Integration into our existing investment in Cisco VoIP was mandatory Initial implementation in IT grew rapidly to 250 pilot users including exchange UM for an 80 seat call centre Finding the right partner who understands your current networking, email and telephony environments is essential if you are looking to integrate those with presence and bring them together under a UM banner In Lion’s case, HP brought that skill to the table

19 Unified. Simplified. Challenges & Results End User Perspective Being able to see the status of anybody in Australia makes a huge difference to the analyst role.... I can chat with team mates and query outages with the co- ordinators, whilst still logging calls. IT SERVICE ANALYST Last weekend we had an planned outage to upgrade a large system which spanned 16hrs overnight, there were 25 staff involved at various times during the implementation.....Inviting participants into an Office Communicator conversation is a significantly more efficient way to communicate during such a large implementation PROJECT MANAGER I work as part of a cross state team (VIC and NSW). The 'instant' aspect has been great to help out with problems but in particular, the 'presence awareness' is just fantastic! I now know when it is worth making the phone call to ask a question or not. BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY PARTNER - INSURANCE SYSTEMS
