There are two comparison degrees of adjectives: comparative and superlative.
Positive Comparative Superlative big bigger the biggest

Remember! We form comparative degree by adding –er to the positive form of adjective. tall – taller We use comparative adjectives to compare two people, animals or things. We often use the word than after the comparative adjective. I am taller than you.

Remember! We form superlative degree by adding –est to the positive form of adjective. We use superlative adjective to compare three or more people, animals or things. We use the word the before the superlative adjective. tall – the tallest I am the tallest student in class.
