3 Tennessee’s Three Grand Divisions Tennessee is divided into regions called the three grand divisions: –West Tennessee –Middle Tennessee –East Tennessee

4 West Tennessee The Mississippi River and the Tennessee River form the natural boundaries of West Tennessee. A major city in West TN is Memphis. It is located on the Mississippi River. Memphis has the largest population density in the state. Can you think of a reason why Memphis has a large population? Memphis Population density is a measure of how many people live in a place.
