Concerning Miscarriage: If the miscarried fetus is formed or its body parts can be recognixed, then the bleeding that occurs is nifas If the miscarried is just a blood clot the bleeding is considered to be istahadah and she should continue to fast and pray If D& C is given then she should resume fasting after her bleeding stops If a woman becomes clean from nifas before the 40 days then she should begin to fast

8. Nifas – Bleeding after giving birth to a baby: If the bleeding stops before 40 days and then resumes then she should stop fasting until the bleeding stops If she bleeds beyond 40 days she should take a ghusl and resume fasting and praying

9. Pregnant and Breastfeeding women: A pregnant or Breastfeeding woman is obligated to fast as is everyone else. If however her life or the life of her baby is in danger and this has been told to her by a Muslim qualified doctor, then she becomes like a person who is ill and does not have to fast but instead should pay the ransom for every day she is unable to fast
