BIC CTU was founded in May 1991 as the first such centre in the CEEC with the assistance of: Czech government, European Union. Starting in 1992 it was built up as a Phare programme pilot project.

The Centre occupies an area of 2 ha on the west side of Prague: near highway D5 towards Pilsen, about 20 minutes from Prague airport and 20 minutes from the main campus of the university.

1991 – 2002 65 clients (enterprises) have passed through the incubator of our Centre. –41 innovative companies, –14 service companies. 20 innovative companies were established by research workers or graduates of CTU, –3 companies were established by students.

DHI HYDROINFORM, a.s., provides advisory and specialised services in the field of water management and the environment. Spin-off company with three employees (two research workers and one student). Over a period of five years, the company transformed itself from a limited liability company into a joint-stock company.

DHI HYDROINFORM, a.s., In 1996, it was the first company from the Czech Republic to be awarded the prestigious Information Technology European Award. The company co-operates very closely with the Danish Hydraulic Institute, which ranks among the top institutes in its field. The company can use the name DHI.

Et Netera business integrator (supplier of complete Internet and Intranet customer solutions) 1997 – spin-off company established by two students of CTU, 1998 – client of BIC, 2001 – Et Netera was placed the fifth on the Fast 50 list. The growth of Et Netera has been 987 % over the last three years.

Et Netera The Central European Technology Fast 50 is an award program of D@T that targets fast- growing technology firms in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia (10 000 companies).
