5. Using E-Stat to Create Useful Graphs One can generate a table through the E-Stat site, import that data into Microsoft Excel, and generate graphs depicting that data, like below, where we measure how often 13 year old children used medicine to treat headaches.

6. E-Stat Graphs The imported data in Excel can be used to create many different types of graphs –Useful for having students compare the different types of graphs and their characteristics –Useful for having students evaluate the effectiveness of one type of graph over another

7. Asking Students Questions About The Graphs 1.Can the second (line) graph be used to interpolate or extrapolate data? How accurate would those estimates be? 2.After analyzing the two graphs, what can you conclude about the medicinal habits of 11, 13, and 15 year old children? 3.Discuss what factors may contribute to the difference in responses between males and females in the first (bar) graph.
