5 Key Questions What is college ready? Describe the characteristics of one of your students who you consider to be college ready. What does it mean to be college ready in mathematics? What does it mean for math based majors? What does it mean for general education students?

6 What Do You Know? Find a partner and list 3 things per person about the CCSS.

7 Identifying the CCSS How do the CCSS compare to what has been identified as college ready in mathematics?

8 Find a Partner How do the Common Core State Standards for math compare with what has been identified as ‘college ready’?

9 Share With Others  What standards are missing?  What are the implications for curriculum?  What are the implications for instruction?  What strategies are you currently using to build the math practices as identified by the Common Core State Standards?

10 Unanswered Questions to consider How will PARCC be utilized by higher education? How/will placement processes align with student performance on PARCC?
