6 What happened? – Caribbean Throughout $3 billion. WBNB off air.

7 What happened- Guadelope Direct hit 140 mph winds Category 4.

8 Monserrat 90 % of all structures were damaged. Bat population went down 90%.

9 St. Croix Tornado Vortices. Ear popping [High pressures] 90 % buildings damaged/destroyed.

10 Puerto Rico Agricultural sector was devastated. Banana & coffee crops almost all wiped out.

11 East Coast Schools closed up to 2 weeks. Left many without power

12 How it happened? 9/9/89 Thunderstorms along Africa’s couast. Tropical Depression 11

13 9/11/89-9/13/89 Wings 30-35 mph Tropical Storm Hugo - Hurricane Category 2.

14 9/15/89 (Caribbean) Category 5 160 mph – 140 Category 4.

15 9/22/89 (Florida) Category 4 140 winds Category 1 (as proceeded)

16 9/25/89 Hurricane Dissipated. Help was sent.

17 Help Many churches, salvation army, & red cross. Contingency Curfew ( ST. croix)
