12 Ingestion Phase Protective Actions Food / Water Interdiction: Prevention of contaminated food stuffs/milk entering food chain. Relocation: The removal or continued exclusion of people from contaminated areas (restricted zone) to avoid chronic radiation exposure. Re-entry: Temporary entry into a restricted zone under controlled conditions. Return: The reoccupation of areas cleared for unrestricted residence or use. based on field data, lab results, gamma fly- over data

Local Agriculture Agency: Coordinate food interdiction and other protective actions.

17 State Agency Roles SOEM: Overall coordination of state agencies. Liaisons to County Emergency Management and elected officials. Agriculture & Markets: Assist state field teams with collection of samples. Environmental Conservation: Assist state field teams with collection of samples; has a major role in recovery operations.
