3 Telephone clinics For CKD and kidney transplant patients Patient survey – 59 % would consider if offered One off pilot clinic for feedback It went very well actually…It was a lot easier than having to get up to Southmead’ ‘When I feel okay, there’s no point in travelling all the way to hospital’ ‘I don’t think there were any disadvantages…I’m all for anything that makes life easier for everyone’ I didn’t have to take time off work. If I go to Southmead it’s half a day out. This way it’s just half an hour. It’s very efficient’

4 Telephone clinic tariff £100 negotiated Business case submitted to CCGs CLAHRC West bid successful – Feasibility study to develop clinic protocol – Evaluate the service – Future research in to nurse led clinic and randomised clinical trial Pilot clinic expected to begin in 3 months

6 Current Position Beta website live The formal launch is awaiting Final Sign Off & Integration into NHS Complaints Procedures Query on Data Commissioner governance - do we need to spend £15 on unique registration or is it covered by BHP / NBT registration? Letter to Companies & Recruitment campaign ready to start with formal BHP sign-off. Like many ideas that look easy there have been formidable hurdles identified and managed, for full logistical details of the project speak to Angie or William Beale at one of the workshops.

7 Acute Kidney Injury 12- 15 % of hospital admissions 20-30 % preventable NICE guidelines July 2013 Priorities – NBT AKI guidelines developed – AKI e-alert on laboratory systems – AKI care bundle to improve AKI management – AKI CQUIN – provide information on AKI to GPs at discharge

8 Education Avon GP education – CKD and AKI study days for GP Exploring with UWE – Study days for nurses and other health care professionals
