1 The Midwest Region Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin Eric, Xavier, and Courtney

2 Physical Features The Midwest has many incredible features. It has big sheets of ice called glaciers. It has lakes like the Great Lakes. It also has prairies which are flatlands covered with waving grass. There are many caves in this region including the Ozark Caves. There are also tornadoes that form sometimes in summer. In the winter blizzards form. They are very cold snow storms.

3 Economy There are many jobs in the Midwest. Services are the most common of all jobs. Manufacturing is the second most common. Trade and agriculture has almost equal workers. Mining has the least amount of workers because its dangerous. There is also farming and steel mills.

4 People More than 65 million people live in the Midwest. Some of these people are Native Americans. Others are European immigrants. They began to arrive in the 1700s. Annie Oakley was a famous person from the Midwest. She shot a dime in midair 90 feet away! Also in the Midwest are German Americans. Minnesota was settled by large numbers of people from Sweden and Norway.

5 map of state goes here Missouri The Arch is in St Louis. You can also go to the Missouri River. One of the Missouri symbols is the fiddle. Some of the famous Missourians are Sheryl Crow, Bill Bradley, Maya Angelou, and Sabra Tull Meyer.

6 Camping Destination We are camping in Branson KOA. We can… Ride bikes. Hike. Have parties.
