9. Bury Bury Mad  Chief Justice Marshall would preside over the Case of Marbury v. Madison(1803)  When James Madison Refused to Appoint William Marbury Justice of the Peace Marbury Sued  Marbury’s Appointment Violated the Law of the Constitution and the Decision was upheld

10. Marshall Law  Marbury v. Madison set up Judicial Review giving the Supreme Court final say on constitutional matters  Marshall seized new powers for the supreme court, but since it was used to the Democratic Republican’s benefit, Jefferson could not fight it  This decision would set up a lasting Checks and Balances system still in effect today
