3. Our tasks are: -to learn more about Alan Alexander Milne and his tale "Winnie - the- Pooh " -to understand who Winnie the Pooh is, and how he appeared; - to compare two versions of the cartoon (Russsian and american); -to find out which one the most popular among children is.

4. Alan Alexander Milne was born in London on January 18th, 1882. His father was John Vine Milne, his mother was Sarah Marie Milne. The youngest of the family's three sons, Alan went to Westminster School at the age of 11 and then went on to Cambridge to become a mathematician. But he never did. Instead he became editor of the university's journal “Granta" in which he published some of his poems.

5. In 1913 he married Dorothy De Selincourt. The Milnes' only child was born on August 21st, 1920. They called him Christopher Robin. The Milnes bought him a teddy bear for his first birthday.

6. The teddy bear was soon named Winnie, after a real bear Winnipeg that lived at London Zoo.

8. In 1925 the Milnes bought a farm in Sussex, which they used for weekends away from London. There was the Ashdown Forest where Christopher Robin and his teddy, "Winnie-the- Pooh" or "Pooh-bear", used to play. Each daily adventure in the Forest gave A. A. Milne more material for his famous book "Winnie- the-Pooh" published in 1926.

9. WINNIE-THE-POOH -sociable and optimistic, -always ready to help; -loves honey and poetry; - avoids long words; - very forgetful but sometimes it creates new brilliant ideas.

10. PIGLET -worries that it is very small; -is a very good friend; -sensitive, romantic.

11. - a tipical melancholiac; -has a constant depression; – sarcastic and jealous by nature ; -trying at all to feel pity.

12. - a clever animal, wise. In fact: - it writes with mistakes; - knows big clever words, but they are useless.

13. English Winnie-the-Pooh, a kind, naïve and modest «Bear with little brain», was born either in 1921 or in 1926. Russian Winnie-the-Pooh ( Винни - Пух ), a bear with sawdust in his brain, became well- known in 1960 due to Boris Zakhoder.

14. « WINNIE-THE-POOH» « ВИННИ - ПУХ И ВСЕ - ВСЕ - ВСЕ » 'Winnie-the-Pooh' was published by Methuenon on October 14th, 1926. В журнале « Мурзилка » за 1939 год были опубликованы две первые главы сказки Милна. Имя автора указано не было, стоял подзаголовок « Английская сказка » Первое издание книги на русском языке было подписано к печати 13 июля 1960 года
