1 CLBC STANDARDS FOR UNACCREDITED SERVICE PROVIDERS an introduction for service providers

2 Webinar Objectives  introduce standards  review reporting expectations  clarify role of the service provider and analyst  discuss training options  review timelines

3 CLBC Contractors directly contracted home sharing providers accredited service providers service providers who do not require accreditation

4 CLBC’s intent is to have consistency in expectations and make sure that common basic standards are being met by all contracted service providers.

5 Terms & Conditions Schedule B: new standards took effect April 1, 2012

6 Does this apply to me? Home sharing providers who have another contract Behavioural consultants Respite providers who hold a contract with CLBC Agencies not accredited by CARF, COA, CQI

7 It does not apply to Ø direct funded supports Ø psychologists doing assessments Ø occupational therapy services Ø agencies undergoing accreditation in 2012

8 Implementation Plan we do not expect unaccredited sp’s to meet all of the standards until March 2013. − April/May introduce standards − June-September training − central inquiries desk − November 30 compliance report − compliance monitoring 2013

9 Why do we need standards? our practice requirements are consistent our service providers clearly understand their roles and responsibilities families and staff are able to assess whether service providers are meeting established standards to ensure that:

10 How were they developed? with service providers based on accreditation standards similar to Home Sharing

11 financial accountability human resources health and safety rights & informed choice accessibility Domains
