2 Getting to Know Someone In groups:  Read p. 18-19 in Creed 1.What do God’s ‘footprints’ in creation tell us about God? What is left out? 2.How does God show us his deepest self? 3.Do you have to trust people before you let them really know you? What does this tell us about our relationship with God?

3 Revelation  Revelation: act of a person  Latin meaning “to unveil”  When one person opens himself or herself up to another

4 How did God reveal himself to us?  Began with Abraham (Genesis 12:1-8 and 15:1-7) –God chose a people of his own to have a close relationship with him=Israelites –God was so great to these people, and could not be portrayed in any one way  St. Paul’s conversation with the Athenians

5 Homework 10.23.09 Read Paul’s speech to the Athenians (Acts 17: 22-31) Write down in your notebook, THREE important points that Paul makes in his speech.

6 Acts 17:22-31 St. Paul says: 1. He made from one the whole human race 2. In God we live and move and have our being-we are his offspring 3. God is so great that he cannot live in one place or in one image made by humans
