Great Pyramid of Giza (Cairo, Egypt) 2600 BC Stones, Limestone 42 stories tall! (480ft) (13 acre base) Pharaoh Khufu (tomb) Today...still stands, but limestone was plundered. 20 years and 100,000 workers.

Hanging Gardens of Babylon (Baghdad, Iraq) 600 BC Sun dried bricks 35ft. Tall, 400ft² Wife of King Nebuchadnezzar II She was lonesome for homeland. Today…destroyed by time, has disintegrated. Exotic plants died because of the lack of watering. Only 1 record of existence exists.

Statue of Zeus (Olympia, Greece) 430 BC Gold, ivory, and jewels 40 ft. tall sitting Zeus Destroyed in Constantinople 850 years after it had been moved there, then toppled by earthquake.

Temple of Artemis (Ephesus, Turkey) 550 BC 140 yds by 80 yds White marble (51,000 tons) Columns 60 ft. tall (127) Artemis Burned by fire, and rebuilt. Earthquake destroyed the temple and then the remains were used in other buildings.

Tomb of Mausolus (Bodrum, Turkey) 350 BC Green limestone (rare) 120 ft. long and 100 feet wide. Mausolus the Governor, by his wife. Looted by invaders, burned, and earthquake. Stood 1500 years, but the stones were used in other buildings “mausoleum” 400 statues

Colossus of Rhodes (Island of Rhodes, Greece) 292 BC Bronze outside Stones and iron inside 120 ft. tall Sun God (Helios) and in honor of a huge victory. Toppled by earthquake then lay on ground before the metal was sold as scrap. One finger is said to be the size of a human.

Pharos of Alexandria (Alexandria, Egypt) Lighthouse Island of Pharos 200 BC White limestone and granite. 300 ft and had 3 tiers. Built to guide soldiers to safety or to welcome to city. Fell in earthquake
