3 In 2010, the number of Chinese invention patent applications reached 390,000, ranking the 2 nd among all countries. In 2010, the number of Chinese PCT applications exceeded 12,000, ranking the 4 th among all countries. 3 The Chinese patent documentation has formed an important component part of the global prior art
