2 Format varies with agency Typically is not reviewed by SRS or SRAS Agencies differ in time window that technical report is due (90 days for National Science Foundation) Report can be quite extensive in detail Technical Report

3 Technical Report (NSF example) Graduate students Organizational Partners Other Collaborators or Contacts Activities and Findings Training and Development Outreach Activities Journal Publications Books or Other One-Time Publications Other Specific Products Contributions Within Discipline Contributions to Other Disciplines Contributions to Human Resource Development Contributions to Resources for Research and Education Required Elements

4 Agency will typically NOT provide new funding until final report is submitted Technical Report

5 Data Management & Retention Policy varies with agency Some require data retention for as long as five years after publication of results Good practice is to retain data for as long as possible (this includes work of postdocs, students and technicians) Keep data in a well-annotated state
