2 Mrs. DeWitt’s LEARNING PHILOSOPHY Teaching is a science as well as an art form. In order to better student learning, teacher training should involve effective teaching strategies which models intention, moral purpose, enthusiasm, humor and on going professional development. An instructional repertoire should entail the use of multiple intelligences, character education, brain-compatible learning strategies, cooperative work groups, and should foster different learning styles. A proactive teacher serves as a facilitator in the learning process and makes learning more meaningful by connecting to real life experiences out of the classroom. Teachers must be passionate in believing all learners can experience a positive learning experience if the content is engaging and useful for life long learning.
