Although term occupation commonly refers to jobs in which individual get paid, it also encompasses many things which people do that are meaningful to them. OT practitioner help client engage in occupations e.g being a mother is an occupation for many clients. which require certain tasks eg meal preparation, which may be necessary for someone but a chore for another OT analyze clients occupation so that they return to those that are of value

19. SUPPORT FOR THE PATIENT AND HIS FAMILY Reassure Therapist should help the family to be realistic in their expectations. The family should not expect the patient to perform activities beyond his capacity, but emphasize those he can do.
