3 OBJECTIVE Recreate the as-is computer lab to a green computer lab.
Create a environment friendly computer lab. Bring green PC to the computer lab. Combination between green technology, green environment and green architecture. Helps organization to save money, reduce energy consumptions, and decrease greenhouse gas emissions involving the uses of computers.

4 Why Green ? Green technology is that in which the technology is environmentally friendly and is created and used in a way that conserves natural resources and the environment. Encompasses a continuously evolving group of methods and materials, from techniques for generating energy to non-toxic cleaning products.

5 Green computing The study and practice of designing, manufacturing, using, and disposing of computers, servers, and associated subsystems the dimensions of environmental sustainability, the economics of energy efficiency, and the total cost of ownership, which includes the cost of disposal and recycling

6 Environment Impact of Computing
Energy cost exceeds hardware costs One PC is made from hazardous materials and heavy metals which are generally used in computer manufacturing When we say green, means that there is no negative impact on the environment. Don’t make the computer laboratory and data centre a computing pollution dungeon, should minimize heat and gases.

7 Strategy Laptop instead of PC
Saves up to 70 % of energy consumptions Don’t over specify – buy what is necessary Computers with high performance requires a lot of power Green-Rated Equipments Use equipment made of recycle components High Efficiency Power Supply Unit  should be able to deliver a consistent energy peek

8 Energy Reduction Lower Power Hardware Server Virtualization
Hard Drive Processor Server Virtualization Can save power of corporate data centre/save money Increased the IT load efficiency Increased the facility load efficiently Manage data center air flow by 70% UPS Efficiency Energy Efficient Coding  Software designed to run as quickly and efficiently as possible

12 Solar System The most abundant source of energy available in the world
It saves energy consumptions. Reduces Carbon Release Eliminates the negative environmental impact of transporting, digging for and burning fuel. There are currently 4 methods of using solar energy. They are Passive, Thermal, Photovoltaic and Thin Film.

13 Disadvantages of solar system
Cost – still quite costly Area Currently, solar panels are rather big and bulky. requires a large, unobstructed area that is relatively flat or angled in a favourable direction where sunlight strikes it for about 5 hours a day. Roofing Once solar system has been installed, repairs and replacement to an existing roof can become expensive and labour intensive. The system must be removed and reinstalled if major work to the roof is required.

15 ROOF AND WALLS Add windows - cooling and lighting capabilities.
Overhangs roof will prevent direct sunlight as well as rain from entering the lab. Low-toxic interior paints and reduce toxins. -improve the overall indoor air circulation of the lab. Fix skylight for natural sunlight at the daytime LAB ARCHITECTURE ROOF AND WALLS OTHER ASPECT LIGHTING AIR QUALITY GREEN PLANTS

16 LIGHTING LED lights last 10 times the length of a typical compact fluorescent The fixtures still compatible with incandescent and fluorescent bulbs, in case the community is unable to replace them. LED lights are also durable, low heat and low power. LAB ARCHITECTURE ROOF AND WALLS OTHER ASPECT LIGHTING AIR QUALITY GREEN PLANTS

17 COLD ENVIRONMENT AND GREEN PLANTS
Make a cheerful environment. Can increase the brightness in lab. flower pots at the edge or around the lab. fix air conditioners in the lab. LAB ARCHITECTURE ROOF AND WALLS OTHER ASPECT LIGHTING AIR QUALITY GREEN PLANTS

18 AIR QUALITY Carpenting
low-pile or less allergen-attracting carpet and pad can greatly improve indoor air quality. Installing carpeting by tacking rather than using glue also reduces air pollutants. natural fiber carpets (wool) improve air quality Besides, reduce the amount of carpeting and use alternate flooring made from sustainably harvested wood or bamboo. Ventilation quiet fans with automatic controls or by heat recovery ventilators. LAB ARCHITECTURE ROOF AND WALLS OTHER ASPECT LIGHTING AIR QUALITY GREEN PLANTS

19 ENERGY EFFICIENCY Advanced framing(30% less lumber)
reduce construction costs and increase energy savings. Use plastic lumber for the table. rot and corrosion-proof, and will not crack, splinter, or chip. long life expectancy in exposed does not leach chemicals into ground or surface water or soil LAB ARCHITECTURE ROOF AND WALLS OTHER ASPECT LIGHTING AIR QUALITY GREEN PLANTS

22 CONCLUSION Use of recyclable materials prolongs the materials lifespan in ecological and economic cycles. Greenery close to buildings serves to important bioclimatic functions: creating more favourable climatic conditions and helping reduce overheating in the lab environment. Environment friendly harm the health of people or creatures on the earth. Environment friendly products we recycle to help save and reduce the impact on our earth by being green.
