Principles of Prayerwalking Partner –Sent out two-by- two –Always have a prayer shield –Debrief together at the conclusion, sharing insights & observations

Principles of Prayerwalking Praise –Praise God and focus on Him & what He is showing you –Bind satan from hindering or distracting you

Principles of Prayerwalking Pray –Bind the strongman and loose the Holy Spirit’s activity in the people and the area –Be discreet –Pray the Word –Minister to those God may bring across your path if God directs you to

Prayer Prepares the Way into God’s Presence Luke 10:1 The disciples began in Jesus’ presence and were sent out everywhere He was about to come Commanded to “lift up their eyes to the fields” Commanded to pray the Lord of Harvest to “thrust forth” laborers

Heavenly Protocol: Thanksgiving, Praise & Worship 1 Peter 2:9; Psalm 100:4 Thanksgiving opens the gate into His throne room. Praise ushers us into His courts. We first minister to God in the holy place. Then we minister to the people.

We offer spiritual sacrifices to God. Ourselves—spirit, soul & body (Rom. 12:1) Our substance—tithes, offerings, meeting practical needs of those around us (Mal. 3:10; Gal. 6:9-10) Our thanksgiving (Lev. 7:12; Phil. 4:6) Our praise (Heb. 13:15) A Broken & Contrite Heart (Ps. 51:17) Joy (Ps. 27:6)

Responding to the Holy Spirit in radical, passionate worship God inhabits the praises of His people In His presence, we are changed & empowered In His presence, we know His heart & receive direction We are sent where He is about to come

“…Every Place Where You Set Your Foot” Beginning in God’s presence Changed by His glory Sent out everywhere He is about to come Carrying His presence with us Transforming nations

Sent Two-by-Two Where Jesus Is About to Come Luke 10:1 Hearing God’s voice Obeying His instructions Carrying His Presence Proclaiming His Coming God confirms His Word with signs & wonders following (Mark 16:20)

Lift Up Your Eyes and Look at the Fields “’My food,’ said Jesus, ‘is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Do you not say, ‘Four months more and then the harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” John 4:34-35 Know the conditions of the fields to successfully produce crops. Put our feet in the place God calls us to go Really LOOK at the condition

We prayerwalk to LOOK: Harvest Field Survey Understanding the harvest field Recognizing present spiritual conditions Seeing the available harvest force

How? Use a map of your focal area Mark sites such as churches, temples, liquor stores, idols, houses of prostitution, crime areas, places of government, education, business, religion/culture, and community gatherings Use a calendar to mark festivals/pilgrimmages Use a timeline to note historical events, battles, community woundings, etc. The enemy knows where you are; but do you know where he is?

See Your City with God’s Eyes POSITIVE: God’s purpose for the city? Redemptive gifts of the city? NEGATIVE: Community woundings? Sins of the city? –Idolatry –Immorality –Injustices –Independence

“Specificity yields fervency; fervency yields results.” “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” James 5:16 Praying on site with insight helps us to pray specifically. As we recognize the condition of the lost, we pray with urgency & desperation. God responds to the fervent prayers of the righteous.

Use Keys of the Kingdom Keys of the kingdom (Isa.22:22; Jer. 1:10) Keys to permit or forbid (Matt. 16:17-19) There is power in God’s Word spoken in faith by believers! “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatsoever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 18:18

Identify “Strongholds” to Know How to Pray A mindset… impregnated with hopelessness… that accepts as unchangeable… things contrary to the will of God. “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Cor. 10:3-5

God’s Power is Greater God cuts through gates of bronze and bars of iron (Isa. 45:1-3) Open door that no man can shut (Rev. 3:8) Authority in Jesus’ name (Matt. 18:18) Bind the strongman (Matt. 12:25-30)

Idols Fall in God’s Presence 1 Sam. 5:2-4 Dagon falls before the presence of God Believers are the living bearers of God’s presence Idols fall in God’s presence

Believers Carry God’s Presence Ark of the covenant a picture of a believer Represented the habitation of God We are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit in Jesus “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” 1 Cor. 6:19-20

Prayerwalk Always go in teams of at least 2 Always have a “prayer shield” Pray “on site with insight” “Specificity yields fervency; fervency brings results.” Story of Indian evangelist prayerwalking Story of Prabek in Lalitpur/Bhaktapur

Prayerwalk Pray –Be discreet –Pray the Word –Listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His direction –Watch for the “people of peace” God may send to you

Be Obedient to What God Shows You to Do, If Anything Ask God to let you see the people and the area with His eyes as you walk Be ready to give an answer for the hope in you Take any prophetic actions God instructs you to do Don’t be presumptious; ask God first and do only what He instructs you to do

Places to Pray Prayers to Pray Government (1 Tim. 2:1-2) Education (Prov. 22:6) Business (Heb. 13:5) Religion & Culture (Deut. 6:5) Community (Eph. 2:19) OpenHeavens (Isa. 64:1) Open Hearts (Acts 2:17) Open Homes (Acts 2:46-47) Open Highways (Isa. 40:3-5) Open Hands (Mt. 10:7-8)

What do I do when I get there? Pray until God brings the person of peace Lk 12:12 The Holy Spirit will teach you what to say. Lk 10:9 Heal the sick, raise the dead, proclaim the Kingdom. Mark 16:20 The Lord works with you confirming His Word with signs & wonders following. Loba Woman Came Thru Healed Child

How to Pray for an Unbeliever That God would draw them to Himself (Acts 17:27). That they seek to know God (Acts 17:27). That they would believe the Word of God (1 Thes. 2:13) That Satan would be bound from blinding them to the Truth (2 Cor. 4:4) That God removes a stony heart & gives them a tender heart toward Him (Ez. 36:26) That the Holy Spirit draws them to Jesus (John 1:12) That they turn from sin (Acts 3:19) That they trust Jesus as Savior (John 1:12) That they obey Jesus as Lord (Matt. 7:21) That they are rooted and grow in Christ (Col. 2:6-7)

Celebrate Periodically gather and celebrate what God is doing. Keep those who are your prayer shield informed about progress. Persevere, believing God for breakthroughs.

Goal: Spreading the Knowledge of the Glory of God To Cover the Earth Prayerwalking is only a tool. Find people of peace & share the good news. Gather those who respond. As Jesus sent you, send them out AIM: The whole city continually glorifying & worshiping God.

Ask God What Part Prayerwalking Should Have in YOUR Field? Individual: –Begin to take possession of your neighborhood, your workplace Church: –Divide your fellowship into prayer teams and prayerwalk your neighborhood Missionary: –Teach new believers to join you in prayerwalking your area or people of focus
