3. Gerald Hatten “Jerry” Buss (age of 78 born in January 27, 1934) is the majority owner of the Los Angeles Lakers which is a professional basketball team from Southern California. Jerry owns many other teams like, The Los Angeles Strings which is a tennis team and the Los Angeles Kings which is in the national hockey league (NHL). He also is an American businessman, real estate investor and is a former chemist. Nationality is American born in Salt Lake City, Utah attended the University of Wyoming and University of Southern California.

4. Phillip Douglas “Phil” Jackson (age 67) was a former Los Angeles Lakers coach and a former NBA player. Phil Jackson played for the New York Knicks and he played for New Jersey Nets. While coaching the Lakers he has won 5 championships with the team. We think Phil Jackson is our favorite coach because he coached Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordon and he was a good leader which made the Lakers a good reputation. Phil is one of the top ten coaches in the NBA history.

Mike Brown is an Chinese-born American basketball head coach in the NBA for Lakers. Mike Brown coached the Cleveland Cavaliers before coaching the Lakers. Mike Brown was honored as NBA Coach of the Year for leading the Cavaliers to a team record and league best 66 wins in 2009, and 61 wins, again a league best in 2010. Mike Brown has succeeded Phil Jackson as being the head coach for the Lakers. Mike Brown is also the uncle of the rapper Chief Keef.

The team originally played in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and it was in "The Land of 10,000 Lakes" that they assumed the "Lakers" nickname.
