10. Other TC Issues (cont.) From John Bibel, Technical Warrant Holder for Missiles for the Navy's Surface Ships –Admiral McCoy, the Naval Sea Systems Command Chief Engineer, has initiated a study of 10 various military specifications, including one for near miss shock, MIL-S- 901D. In particular, he is asking the government and our industry partners to examine the cost impact of our specifications in order to enable the Navy's shipbuilding plan. –I was wondering if the AIAA (Structures TC, in particular) or any other industry group that you know of might have an existing report, policy paper, or white paper from a study that examined the impact of 901D/shock and would be willing to share with our NAVSEA study team. –Likewise, I am also taking inputs as to the potential for the AIAA to participate in a study on 901D shock if time permits.
