Participate What can students do? 1.Complete your homework 2.Read the novels Lord of the Flies and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde 1.Read the play Romeo and Juliet – better still watch a live performance! 2.Explore the background to these texts and make prompt cards – you could do this for the poetry too! 3.Write well in all subjects and make it a good habit.

10 Achieve. Belong. Participate Assessments Students’ understanding of skills will be assessed three times each half term. Peer assessment. Teacher assessment (twice). Assessments will be presented as exam papers.

12 Achieve. Belong. Participate Monitoring As a team, we will monitor attainment and offer support for students who are finding a topic hard. If we are concerned about attainment over the course of two assessments, we will contact home and talk to parents. Students will be given in-depth feedback from assessments. Main assessments will have sheets, which break down skills into manageable chunks. This break down of skills will also help us to target support if needed.

13 Achieve. Belong. Participate End of Year 10 Students to sit Paper 1 and Paper 2 for Language. This will provide us with a clear picture of overall attainment and will also highlight areas that need to be developed further.
