2 To operate a profitable waste management business providing employment and improved employability whilst increasing environmental awareness and returning the profits to support the social needs of the communities we serve.

3 ACE started out in 1984 as a furniture re-use project and has risen to become one of the largest community recycling companies around. We play an important strategic role in our immediate community, offering affordable furniture to community residents, recently homeless and re-housed tenants in partnership with Clackmannanshire council. ACE also carry out recycling services to businesses right across the central belt of Scotland.

4 ACE Commercial waste management Company. Operating a bespoke waste management service along the central belt. Contracted to Carry out kerbside collections on behalf of Clacks Council.

5 Under the European union directive All Drivers who operate Lorries or Minibuses over 3.5 Tonne must have a Driver certification of professional competence (CPC). Ace must also carry a CPC operators licence. 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years. Both Commercial and Retail vehicles are covered by a waste transfer licence. All Drivers of commercial goods vehicles over 3.5tonnes will also fall under the E.U drivers Hours legislation. All Vehicle insurance is covered under a fleet policy and is renewed yearly.

6 Two Ford Luton Vans. Crewed By a Driver and Loader. No Driver Cpc needed. Driver only needs a car Licence. Has a tailgate. Very effective for furniture delivery. Can carry out multi drop deliveries. Low fuel consumption.

7 First aid Box. Qualified First Aider. Hi-Visibility Vests. Safety Boots and Gloves. Straps to tie down load. Transit Blankets. Tools to dismantle furniture. Mobile Phone.

8 All donations are taken at a central point by either email or phone call. All collections are verified with customer to have relevant fire safety label ( soft Furnishing), and are of fit for use condition. All customer collects are offered opportunity to gift aid item. All deliveries are collated after sale to the same point from all three stores. All collection or delivery details are entered into a driver delivery sheet with all customer contact details Customers allocated the relevant delivery or collection day for the area they live in. Customers are called 24hours before to confirm allocated delivery day is still convenient. Driver loads next day deliveries and collects work sheet at end of daily shift.

9 All our Vehicle Management procedures are kept on our company Integrated Management System Software(I.M.S) which all relevant personnel can access. All vehicles Repairs and maintenance MOT’s are outsourced and are serviced by Greys on a 8 week cycle. All the fleet fuel is bought and billed monthly from local council. Daily vehicle checklist reports are carried out by driver and filed with operations Dept.

10 ACE has an important social impact in this area. Through involvement with Community Jobs Scotland and work placement schemes such as life skills, we are able to provide employment and training opportunities for people seeking employment, improving their long-term prospects.
