4. Simplifying Expressions (7 mins) Distributive Property- distribute the number and variable to the numbers and variables inside of the parentheses. Combine Like Terms- adding or subtracting terms with the same variables or terms.

5. Distributive Property Distribute the 5 to everything inside of the parentheses 5(10x -6) =4 50x – 30= 4

6. Distributive Property/ Combining Like Terms Distribute the x and then the 9 x(9-6) + 9(x-2) > 80 9x-6x + 9x-18 > 80 12x -18 > 80 Combine like terms, remember to combine the – or + sign

7. Bootcamp Practice (15 mins)  Pages 115- 116- you may not write on. Copy the questions into your composition notebook and solve.

12. Graph Linear Equations- 7 mins  Slope intercept form (y= mx +b)  Y-intercept- where the line crosses the y-axis.  X- Intercept- where the line crosses the x- axis.

13. Find the x and y intercepts- 10 mins (plug in (0) to solve for each.  y= -3x- 2 y= - 3 (0) -2 y= -2  y= -3x- 2 (0)= - 3x -2 +2 +2 2= -3x -3 -2/3= x

14. Find the x- and y- intercepts (plug in known info below) Y= x+3 X012 Y310 Example: Y= (1) +3 4= 4

15. Put equation in slope intercept form y= mx +b 4x +2y= 6 - 4x -4x 2y= -4x +6 2 2 2 Y= -2x +3 4x +2y= 6

17. Graph the equation Y= -2x +3 Rise= -2 Run 1
