3 Group B: specific conditions (sec.7.2) Group B covers new geographical regions for which new partnerships will be selected and funded Note : these new windows might require specific eligibility criteria which may differ from those described in section 6 of Guidelines

4 Group B: geographical coverage ( sec.7.2) The current call for proposals has enlarged its geographical coverage to new regions assembled in group B. These are : African Caribbean and Pacific Group of States covered by the 9th European Development Fund Western Balkan covered by the IPA regulation Asia region: Asia Regional and India covered by the DCI regulation Latin America region: Brazil, Chile and Mexico covered by the DCI regulation

16 Group B: Specific Criteria India (lot 15) In complement to the GENERAL RULE, the minimum partnership composition must include: at least two institutions from two different states in India. Projects including at least one institution physically located in Backward Regions are encouraged. 24 Group B: specific criteria Latin America region – Brazil (lot 16) In line with the national policy of positive discrimination, the totality of the mobility has to focus on individuals under Target Group 1. Participants will be selected under Target Group 2 and 3 only in case it will not be possible to select all the participants under Target Group 1. 3.Type of mobility and indicative distribution 1 This term is used to describe the mobility of a Brazilian student that makes a part of his/her doctorate course in a European university. The “sandwich” doctorate usually begins after all the disciplines have been concluded at the Brazilian university and the mobility can be between six and ten months (one semester or a full academic year) in an European University

28 Group B: specific criteria Latin America region – Chile (lot 17) 2.Partnership composition Concerning the participation of universities from Chile, the minimum partnership for this window will be constituted of five Chilean accredited universities out of which: At least one from the following northern regions: Arica, Tarapacà, Antofagasta and Atacama At least one from the following southern regions : De los Ríos, De los Lagos, Aysén y Magallanes The Chilean universities must be either a member of the Consejo de Rectores de Universidades Chilenas www.cruch.cl/cruch.html or part of the list of the national universities with Institutional Accreditation by the competent entity Consejo Nacional de Acreditación www.cruch.cl/cruch.html and www.cnachile.clwww.cruch.cl/cruch.html

29 Group B: specific criteria Latin America region – Chile (lot 17) 3.Type of mobility and indicative distribution The individual mobility for undergraduates and academic staff is not eligible under this window. In addition to the general provisions, only individuals from the following regions (Arica, Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Atacama, De los Ríos, De los Lagos, Aysén y Magallanes) can be selected under Target Group 3.

33 Group B: specific criteria Latin America region – Mexico (lot 18) Concerning the participation of Mexican universities, the minimum partnership for this window will be constituted of at least five Mexican universities out of which: –At least one from one of the ten least developed Mexican States according to the UNDP HDI ranking: Chiapas, Oaxaca, Guerrero, Michoacán, Veracruz, Hidalgo, Zacatecas, Puebla, Tlaxcala and Nayarit. Priority will be given to partnerships including State higher education institutions.
