1 CLBv2 Planning: Production of 6 prototypes -> December 2013 1st Pre-serie 50 units -> April 2014 (following with the current planning) (Need to purchase 43 75433-2104 and 15 75331-0444 by December 2013) (Need to purchase 50 FPGA by January 2014 -> By then has to be selected the type of FPGA to use (325T-2, 160T-2 or 160T-1. If not clear yet the 325T-2 is the safest choose) Space optimization is not an issue at this stage. 2nd Pre-serie 50 units -> September 2014 (July in the current planning) (Need to purchase 50 75433-2104 and 50 75331-0444 by March 2014) (Need to purchase 50 FPGA by April 2014) Full production 640 units -> November 2014 (This task was not included in the electronics planning) (640 = 31 * 18 + 15 % spare) How to fit this planning with the tender to be launch next month? 1 st Pre-serie outside the tender 2 nd and full production batches on it, if possible

2 Connectors: https://docs.google.com/a/km3net.de/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AksrxrPayqsndGJPTUktdmlW MWxwUHNINFZXbWd6U3c&usp=drive_web#gid=0 Good idea to order all the Octopusv3 and CLBv2 connectors already (outside the tender in the case of the CLBv2) -> I will propose it to the SC The most urgent need at the moment is to place an order by December 2013 for at least: 43 75433-2104 15 75331-0444 FPGA: 50 FPGAs by January 2014 (outside the tender) 50 FPGAs by April 2014 (to be included in the tender?) 640 FPGAs by June 2014

3 In the tender documentation (November 2013) will not be possible to specify which FPGA to use. We have already the XILINX FPGA price list: The prices provided by XILINX are the followings : XC7K325T-2FBG676C (Price protos 794 USD) - Step 1: de 1 a 100 pcs: 600 USD - Step 2: de 101 a 600 pcs: 490 USD - Step 3: de 601 a 1600 pcs: 375 USD 640 + 50 + 50 = 740 FPGAS = 100 * 600 + 600 * 490 + 40 * 375 = 315000 USD XC7K160T-1FBG676C (Price protos 176 USD ) - Step 1: de 1 a 100 pcs: 160 USD - Step 2: de 101 a 600: 137 USD - Step 3: de 601 a 1600 pcs: 127 USD 640 + 50 + 50 = 740 FPGAS = 100 * 160 + 600 * 137 + 40 * 127 = 103280 USD XC7K160T-2FBG676C (Price protos 212 USD ) - Step 1: de 1 a 100 pcs: 195 USD - Step 2: de 101 a 600: 162 USD - Step 3: de 601 a 1600 pcs: 150 USD 640 + 50 + 50 = 740 FPGAS = 100 * 160 + 600 * 137 + 40 * 127 = 122700 USD Could we add conditional clauses to the tender? Or should the FPGA be purchased outside the tender? (Action: I will add this info to an excel file in googledocs)

4 Switch at the base of the D.U. 1.- Modification of the switch (industrial components) -> Same behaviour as current switch (for testing the CLBv2 the current switch can be used) Deadline -> Need to be ready by the integration of the 1 st D.U. (November 2014)? 2.- Modification of the Base Container to allocate the switch 3.- 20 ports switch at the base of the D.U Can be skipped with D.U. of 16 nodes 10 GB Switch on the on-shore station Dead line -> Needed by connection of the first D.U.? Spring 2015? Possibility to test CLBv2 with 1 GB Switch on the on-shore station
