6 Math Following the Maryland Common Core Curriculum Standards Focus on encouraging writing in Math this year Integrated Math & Science concepts and projects (STEM) Assessments throughout the year; PARCC Focus on understanding Fractions, Percents and Decimals Knowing your facts is critical to success in the math curriculum

7 Science Curriculum aligned with Maryland’s Voluntary State Curriculum and The Next Generation Science Standards; encouraging use of reading strategies across the content areas Assessments throughout the year; MSA Cells and Microscopes Physics: including Force and Motion, Light, Energy, Magnetism, Electricity and Sound Rocks and Minerals Constructive and Deconstructive Forces Puberty

9 Field Trips Fall – Smithsonian Spring – ?? Chaperone positions are limited by space on the buses. Those who ride the buses with us are chosen on a first-come (and paid), first- served basis, or by random selection, depending on interest level

10 Volunteers and Parent Involvement Special Events & Activities PPTA events & fundraisers FFifth grade day and field day, etc. Chaperones on field trips Scheduled conference times
