P – Prewriting Prewriting/brainstorming is the process of generating (developing) a lot of information within a short time using the prompt that is given.
Jot down all the possible terms that emerge from the general topic you are thinking about.
Simply write down a lot of possibilities.
Group the items that you have listed according to arrangements that make sense to you.
Write a sentence or two about the group of ideas. This could possibly be your thesis statement.

4. P. O. W. E. R.
O – Organization Graphic organizers are a helpful way to organize information.
Graphic organizers are helpful because:
They help you understand how things go together.
They help you remember information better.
They make it easier to write your final draft.
They help organize any type of writing.

5. P. O. W. E. R. W – Write! Begin writing your paper.
Put the information you brainstormed about into your own words.
Write sentences and paragraphs even if they are not perfect.
Read what you have written and judge if it says what you mean.

6. P. O. W. E. R.
E – Edit Editing is to check spelling, punctuation, grammar, vocabulary and if your story makes sense.
Editing is one of the most important parts of making a story.
You are checking for accuracy in your writing.
You will be checking for grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization mistakes.

7. P. O. W. E. R. R – Revise Revising means to change things in the text!
All you need to do is to make corrections in your story.
For instance, if you wrote this:
Me and my sister went to the park.
You should change it to:
My sister and I went to the park.
If you forgot something, now is the time to add things.
You might want to reorganize things.
Maybe you put in a sentence that doesn't match or doesn't fit with the other sentences.
As you read through the text make sure you’re saying what you want to say.
