3 What is happening in Washington State? How can we work together to develop trade, jobs, and manage environmental challenges?

4 The mission of the CleanTech Alliance Washington is to support the development of cleantech companies, jobs, and products in Washington State.

5 The CleanTech Alliance Washington is:  A non-profit 501(c)6  Funded by membership dues, events, and business services  Business initiative in 2007

6 Two Essential Questions:  What is cleantech?  How can we create value that is worth paying for?

7 What is Cleantech?  Five Years Ago:  Solar, wind, geothermal, tidal, environment  Today, it is very broad:  Energy generation, conservation, storage, or use  Environment  Sustainability

8 What is Cleantech?  Five years from now—in Washington:  Built Environment  Biofuels  Smart Grid  Storage

9 Membership  Core Organizations: Mostly engaged in some aspect of energy generation, conservation, or utilization  Support Organizations: Legal, finance, NGOs  Organizations Interested in Sustainability
