4 Unopened Food Products BoxesBoxes Strong Environmental Services ORM-D shipments Store returned donations SEALED FOOD ITEMS (except cooler items) can be donated even if: -Box is damaged or missing label -“Sell by” or “Best by” date is in the past example: box is razor cut but the inner packing is intact. IMPORTANT: If product has a past “EXP” date, product must be destroyed. 35 lbs. Max!

5 Non-Food Products BoxesBoxes Strong Environmental Services ORM-D shipments Store returned donations SEALED non-food items that have NOT EXPIRED can be donated even if the outer packaging is damaged. Examples of acceptable non-food items: 35 lbs. Max!

6 ORM-D shipmentsORM-D shipments If a donation box contains at least 1 ORM-D item in it, the outside of the box must be marked “ORM-D”. Note: this will be done by Admin at the approval process. Examples of ORM-D products: Shipping ORM-D Donations

7 Can’t donate it, Can’t trash it! Strong Environmental ServicesStrong Environmental Services Some items cannot be donated due to legal restrictions or cannot go in the regular trash for environmental reasons. 35 lbs. Max! WIC 959843

8 Examples of products we can’t donate or trash Strong Environmental ServicesStrong Environmental Services Expired Non-Food items Expired OTC drugs, devices, cosmetics (e.g., vitamins, band-aids, cough drops, sunscreen) Accelerants (e.g., lighter fluid, cigarette lighters) Nail polish and nail polish remover Hair sprays (aerosol cans) Hair coloring, removal, and bleaching products Bug repellants, bug killers Pet flea and tick products (liquid form) Aerosol cans Ammonia and ammonia-based products Fertilizers Hydrogen peroxide Rubbing alcohol 35 lbs. Max!

9 Handling Store returned Donations Store returned donationsStore returned donations Stores will be returning "Donation" boxes to the DC. These boxes need to be palletized and staged in shipping (don't use orange pallets). Do not mix these boxes with DPI boxes. Admin will load these returned "Donation" boxes into a 2ndHarvest trailer.
