3 3 Curriculum MS program requires 33 credits (11 courses) Each program has a “ core ” required of all Students Remainder of program is elective Undergraduate prerequisites may be required if UG degree is not in CS or CpE (note GPA Requirement!)

4 4 Facilities Unix workstation labs featuring Ultra Sparcs Several PC labs running Windows Robotics lab Logic Synthesis lab with boards from Altera and Xilinx Microprocessor/digital/embedded System lab

5 5 Academic Regulations See “ Key to UB ” Student Handbook “ But my seniors told me …” does not work Forms for everything (registration, schedule change, underloads, graduation, … ) Cheating and plagiarism – do not do either Registration occurs in semester prior to next semester (November for spring semester; April for fall semester)

6 6 Life During or After UB Yes, it does exist Co-operative education (internship) – eligible after two semesters at UB On-campus work; eligible immediately OPT for internationals Job opportunities – almost limitless

7 7 Study hard and make the most of this opportunity

8 8 Guidance and Help at UB Academic advisor – each student is assigned to one; see this person to register, receive information about your academic progress, other stuff (check office hours, send email – don ’ t just show up) GA ’ s for certain courses, other work Project advisor Department chair Counseling Center – very important
