2 Curriculum  1 st Quarter: Mapping, hominids, earliest societies, Fertile Crescent/Mesopotamia  Other major topic areas: Egypt, Greece, Rome, China, Africa, Middle Ages

3 Parent and Student Portal  Grades can be viewed by both students and parents by visiting the Parent or Student Portal.  http://www.hamburgschools.org http://www.hamburgschools.org  As soon as grades are inputted by the teacher, they are able to be viewed.  Breakdown of overall grades:  Tests = 40%Quizzes = 20%HW = 20% Classwork/Projects = 20%

4 Homework  Majority of assignments worth 2 points. Well thought out, handed in on time, full effort - 2 points.  Late assignments only accepted next day and max points earned - 1.  Anything handed in after that - 0. Students are still responsible for handing in those assignments.

5 Field Trip to Medieval Times  Toronto, Ontario  Middle - end of May  Students need copy of birth certificate or passport  Fundraisers  Parents welcome to join, drive separately  Student cost ~$60 ticket & bus  Parent cost ~$40
