Why SCOPUS ??

Good Features in SCOPUS (From my own experience) 1. SCOPUS covers some peer-reviewed journals from Thailand, which contain English-language articles with academic quality norms, such as 1. SCOPUS covers some peer-reviewed journals from Thailand, which contain English-language articles with academic quality norms, such as Southeast Asian Journal of Tropical Medicine and Public Health Journal of the Medical Association of Thailand Asian Pacific Journal of Allergy and Immunology It’s good to see the publications from such Thai peer-reviewed journals, and also their citation counts. (I also hope to see more Thai journals included in SCOPUS soon, especially ScienceAsia, The Kasetsart Journal. Natural Sciences,ScienceAsiaThe Kasetsart Journal. Natural Sciences, Songklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology Mahidol University Journal of Pharmaceutical SciencesMahidol University Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences etc.)

2. Cited reference searching in SCOPUS is very easy to interprete (easier than Web of Science) 3. Speedy search / well-designed user interface. 4. The result lists in SCOPUS are extremely excellent. 5. “Refine Results” feature of SCOPUS is the best comparing to any other databases. (better than SciFinder Scholar’s Analyse feature) 6. SCOPUS use simple terminology. Easy-to-understand for non-librarian end users.

Comments & Questions : The database content is still incomplete. Some articles and some issues are frequently missing. For example, I cannot find these articles in SCOPUS : Tetrahedron 1965,21(6):1453-1470. (This journal is included in SCOPUS, and this article can be found in ScienceDirect !) Chem. Pharm. Bull. 1971;19:207-208. (Other issues of this journal is included in SCOPUS)

Comment : SCOPUS should has operator “SAME” SCOPUS should has operator “SAME” to find records containing “faculty of science” and “Mahidol” in the same subfield (address). to find records containing “faculty of science” and “Mahidol” in the same subfield (address).

What I don’t like about SCOPUS The extremely expensive price, of course! Purshasing by only one university budget seems to be difficult in the present economic situation. National subscription (by ThaiLis - UNiNet) ??
