1 London Transport Museum Exploring the story of London, its transport system and the people who have travelled and worked in the city over the last 200 years.

2 Getting to and Arriving at the Museum The venue is situated within the centre of the city. There is a bus stop within 150m (164yds) of the venue. The nearest mainline station is Charing Cross. The nearest underground station is Covent Garden. London Transport Museum is located in the south east corner of Covent Garden Piazza. The Piazza is cobbled, with a level path only part of the way round. The venue does not have its own car park. Clearly signed and / or standard marked parking bays are available. Standard marked parking bays are located on Tavistock and Wellington Streets. There is not a designated drop off point. The area of the piazza outside the front of the Museum can be used as a drop off point if requested in advance.

3 Entrances Visitors to the Library need to arrive at the Museum's Reception entrance at 39 Wellington Street. The Library is situated on the first floor at the top of a curved flight of stairs. Full disabled access to the Library is available via the lift in the main Museum and then stair lift to the Library. Magnifiers are available for visitor use. There is a ramp/slope located at front of the entrance in the south east corner of Covent Garden Piazza.

4 Accessibility Physical Disabilities The museum is accessible for wheelchair users with level access at the Ticket Desk, and lifts to all floors. There are ramps in some areas. Due to the historic nature of the collection, not all of the vehicles are accessible. Hearing impairment- Induction loops are located at the Ticket Desk, Cloakroom, Library and Information Desk. Our audio visual exhibits are either subtitled or fitted with induction loops. Visual Impairment- Large print Highlights Tours are available on request from the Ticket Desk and the Information Desk on the First Floor. Magnifiers are also available on request. Ask the Ticket Desk on arrival.

5 Facilities Stair and ramp access at front entrance. All toilets, including accessible toilets, and baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor. The Cloakroom is located to the right along the corridor past the Information and Ticket Desk.

6 Access around the museum The floors which are accessible by stairs are G-1-2. There are 15+ steps between floors. The lift is located at the top of the ramp and steps. The floors which are accessible by this lift are G-2.

7 Eating at the venue Lower Deck cafe bar Situated in the main museum the Lower Deck café offers a range of sandwiches, snacks, hot and cold drinks. It also consists of a picnic area. Food is only served on Saturday and Sunday. During Monday-Friday the space is available for visitors to eat their own packed lunches Picnic area In addition to The Upper Deck and Lower Deck cafe bar, the Museum also has a small picnic area inside the Museum where visitors can eat their own packed lunches.
