1 F.O.C.U.S. Feeding Our Community, Uniting Students High School/Freshman Academy Community Service Project 2013- 2014

2 Mission Statement Our mission is to provide food and other necessities as available to individuals and families in the Jenks Public School District who need temporary assistance in critical financial situations. JCFB is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. All donations are tax-deductible. The Board of Directors and all workers are volunteers and receive no financial compensation. Jenks Community Food Bank

4 Who are our clients?

5 Dad lost his job JCFB clients are in our classrooms! Grandma just moved in with us

6 This is the current site of the JCFB. It’s located at 324 W. Apache (behind Sonic on Main). 700 sq. ft

7 Food is sorted and temporarily stored at the First Christian Church of Jenks. Volunteers weekly sort donations.

8 Food is organized on shelves in several rooms of the house. Shelf labels show distribution guidelines.

9 With out the annual JPS school food drives…. the food bank would not exist!

10 Jenks Community Food Bank Open each Saturday from 10 am-12 pm Assists 25-30 families a week Volunteers from 4 local churches work Provide food to families so that more of their limited income is available for other needs

11 JCFB Clients Each family- Must live within the Jenks School District Supplemental Can only receive assistance for 8 out of 12 months a year
