GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS Purpose text To describe how something is accomplished through a sequence of actions or steps Generic structure 1. Goal: The purpose of the activities 2. Materials: The materials used (optional) 3. Steps: The steps that must be done

LINGUISTIC CHARACTERISTICS 1.Patterns Imperative sentences (sentences command), for example, Cut, do not mix, put. 2.Action verb, for example slice, turn, put, etc. 3.connectives for the sort of activities, for example while, after that, then. 4.Adverbials to state the time, place, manner accurate, for example ten minutes, 18 cm from the bottom etc.

Materials Materials you should prepare: - 1 piece of card - 1 piece of colored paper - A scissor - Some glue - Colored pens or pencils and anything to decorate the card
